Hostinger

Quick answer
The Hostinger AI Builder, formerly Horizons, is worth it for anyone who wants a simple website or web app without coding and accepts that the AI builds the first version. If you need plugins, your own theme and full control, you are better off on WordPress. What decides it is the type of project; the chart is below.
What the AI Builder is (formerly Horizons)
Horizons was Hostinger's AI website and app builder. In 2026 it merged with the traditional website builder and became the Hostinger AI Builder: the old address redirects to the new page, which presents the product as the website builder and Horizons merged into a single builder with two modes. Searches still use the old name, which is why it appears here.
The page says it creates websites and web apps from a text description, with no technical skills, in two modes:
- Editing without AI (Manual mode): you start from a site the AI generated or from one of the templates and edit by dragging and dropping. It uses no AI credits.
- Editing with AI (Agentic mode): you describe what you want in the chat and the AI designs and codes it. Every action uses AI credits, and you can top them up.
What comes out is a website or a web app, not an app for the App Store or Google Play: the page itself says so. Hosting, domain and email come with the plan, and the source code can be exported to host elsewhere. All of this is Hostinger's description, read on October 28, 2026, not a test of ours.
Don't confuse it with Hostinger's automation agents, such as OpenClaw and Hermes Agent: those are assistants that run on a server and answer on Telegram or WhatsApp. The AI Builder builds the site.
Which project it suits: the chart
The right question is not "is the AI any good?" but "what am I going to build, and who will work on it afterwards?". The chart sums up the choice by type of project, from what the AI Builder page and the WordPress documentation say on October 28, 2026:
If your project fits in two lines, start with the AI Builder: it has a free trial, no card required, with 5 AI credits. If what you need already has a plugin's name, go with WordPress.
AI Builder or WordPress
Price does not decide it: at Hostinger, the AI Builder comes with the web hosting plans, the same ones that run WordPress, at the same prices. What changes is who does the work and what you control.
WordPress wins when the project depends on a specific plugin, on a theme you already have, or on someone who will maintain the site later. It is free software: the whole site is yours and goes to any host with no rework.
The AI Builder wins when you don't want to install or update anything and want a web app with login and data, which on WordPress turns into a pile of plugins. The caveat that changes the decision: in AI mode, every change uses credits. According to the page, a simple business site takes 5 to 10 credits, and a more complex app, 15 or more. Anyone who changes the site every week needs to do the maths; anyone who builds it once and edits text and photos in the editor, without prompts, spends nothing.
AI Builder or Wix (and Lovable)
Wix is the traditional drag-and-drop builder, with its own hosting. It has a free plan on a Wix address, and your own domain requires a paid plan. If you want a pure visual editor, Wix does the job. If what matters is being able to take the project away later, compare what each page guarantees: the AI Builder's says the code can be exported, and WordPress is free software and goes to any host.
Lovable is another vibe coding tool, the same idea as the AI Builder's AI mode: you describe, the AI codes. The difference is the package. Lovable charges per credit, per message, and has a free plan with a few credits a day; it is the tool for creating, and you sort out domain and email separately. At Hostinger, hosting, domain and email come in the same plan, and the no-AI mode uses no credits. For anyone who already codes and wants only the AI, Lovable is comparable; for anyone who wants everything in one place, Hostinger.
Price and renewal on October 28, 2026
The AI Builder has no plan of its own: it comes with the web hosting plans, on 48-month terms paid up front. The prices below are from Hostinger's international site, in US dollars, read on October 28, 2026 through the referral link, during the Black Friday campaign; the page shows the discount already applied, with the crossed-out price next to it. In your country, Hostinger may show another currency and taxes, so check the cart before you pay. The AI credit column is each plan's one-time allowance, doubled during Black Friday:
"Renewal costs 4 to 6 times the promotional price. Look at the renewal column before choosing a plan."Cecília Mauad
- Premium, with the link: 48 × US$1.99 = US$95.52. Renewal, over the following 48 months: 48 × US$10.99 = US$527.52.
- Unlimited, with the link: 48 × US$2.79 = US$133.92. Renewal: 48 × US$16.99 = US$815.52.
- AI credits are a one-time allowance, not monthly. Once they run out, it is a top-up, and the top-up price does not appear on the page: check the panel before counting on it.
The monthly price is the total divided by 48. In practice:
What to check before paying
- The credits. The AI mode spends credits on every request, and the plan's balance does not renew every month. Build the site with the AI and make the text and photo tweaks in the editor, which costs nothing.
- What happens if you don't renew. The page warns: an expired plan that is not renewed takes the project offline and deletes the data. Export the code before letting it lapse.
- Domain and email are free only in the first year. After that, the domain renews at Hostinger's list price, read on October 28, 2026: a .com costs US$19.99 per year.
- 30-day refund, as long as you have used fewer than 30 AI credits.
- The online store is a feature of the Unlimited and Cloud Startup plans; the international page lists it as available at checkout. Check there what it costs.
- There is no native app. What the Builder makes is a responsive web app that opens in the phone's browser. For the App Store and Google Play, it is another path.

The referral link and the price with it
The referral link already applies the discount: there is no code to type. It gives 20% off the first period only, on plans of 12 months or more, and the discount does not stack with other coupons. Renewal is charged at the normal price. On the AI Builder page, on October 28, 2026, the plans appeared with the referral applied, at the prices in the "with the referral link" column above. The full rule and the other products are on Hostinger's page on the site.
Hostinger is running its Black Friday campaign, with no end date on the page, and the prices and the doubled credits may change. Check the amount in the cart before you pay.
Is it worth it? The verdict
It is worth it for anyone who wants a site with a few pages, a portfolio, a small shop or a simple web app and doesn't want to code or look after plugins. The first version comes out of the description, and the no-AI mode lets you adjust without spending credits. Start with the free trial; if the result works for you, the Premium plan covers a simple site and Unlimited, a shop.
Stay on WordPress if the project depends on plugins, on a theme of yours, on someone who will maintain the site, or if you want to take everything to another host with no rework. The Hostinger plan is the same in both cases, so the choice is only about the tool.
When in doubt, try the AI Builder before paying. There are 5 free credits, no card required, enough to see whether the AI understands what you want. If it doesn't, WordPress is still there.
Frequently asked questions
Does Hostinger Horizons still exist?+
It does, under another name. In 2026 Horizons merged with Hostinger's website builder and became the Hostinger AI Builder, with a drag-and-drop mode and a mode for creating through the chat. The old address redirects to the new page.
Does the Hostinger AI Builder make the site on its own?+
It builds the first version from your description, according to the page. The content, the photos and the business decisions are still yours, and every request in AI mode uses credits.
Do you need to know how to code to use the AI Builder?+
No. The page says neither mode requires technical knowledge. Anyone who can code gets a code editor in AI mode.
Can you move from the AI Builder to another host?+
The page says the source code can be exported and hosted elsewhere. The built-in back end, with database and login, stays at Hostinger, so an app needs reconfiguring outside it.
Is the AI Builder good for an online store?+
For a small shop, yes: the online store is a feature of the Unlimited and Cloud Startup plans. For a large store, with shipping and payment rules, WordPress with WooCommerce gives more control.
How much does Hostinger Horizons cost in 2026?+
The AI Builder comes with the hosting plans. On October 28, 2026, on the international site with the referral link, Premium cost US$1.99/month on a 48-month term (US$95.52 up front) and renews at US$10.99/month; Unlimited, US$2.79/month (US$133.92) and renews at US$16.99/month.
Is there a coupon for the Hostinger AI Builder?+
There is no code to type. The 20% discount comes through the referral link, only on the first period and on plans of 12 months or more, and it does not stack with other coupons.
