How to choose a web host: is Hostinger worth it for your site?

Every host sells its first period with a steep discount, and that is where comparisons go wrong. What weighs on the budget is the month after the promotion. Before the prices, these are the four criteria we use to compare:

• Renewal. Hostinger shows each plan's renewal price on the card. Read it before the promotional price.
• Cycle. Hostinger's promotional price applies to the 48-month plan. A 48-month total does not compare with a total for a different term. Compare per month, not by the total.
• Server in the country. The Hostinger plan pages we read on October 30, 2026 do not say where the server is. If that matters to you, ask support before you buy.
• VPS. If the site needs guaranteed processor and memory, it is a different comparison, further down.

Web hosting, on Hostinger's international site, in US dollars, on the 48-month plan paid up front. Hostinger is running its Black Friday campaign, with no end date on the page:

Prices without SONAR20. These are the prices on Hostinger's international site in US dollars, and they can vary by country and currency, so check the cart. Renewal costs 3 to 5 times the promotional price. Premium has weekly backups; Unlimited, daily.

The plans don't line up one to one across hosts, and within Hostinger the step up follows the number of sites. Three questions decide between the plans, and the table above answers them per month:

• How many sites. Premium covers up to 3 sites. Unlimited and Cloud Startup have no site limit on the page. With one or two sites, Premium is enough; for more, Unlimited.
• What you pay after the promotion. The gap between Premium and Unlimited is US$1 a month during the promotion and US$6 at renewal. The gap widens when the promotion ends.
• Cloud Startup. It is the top plan on the international site: it renews at US$25.99 a month, against US$16.99 for Unlimited, and during the promotion it costs more than twice as much. It doubles the storage (100 GB NVMe against 50 GB). For many ordinary sites, Unlimited is enough.

• Storage. The entry plan, Premium, has 20 GB of SSD. NVMe, at 50 GB, starts on Unlimited.
• Backup. Premium has weekly backups; Unlimited, daily. Before you choose, check that the backup you need is included in the plan you want.
• Server location. The pages do not say where the server is. If that matters to you, ask support before you buy.
• Renewal in the cart. Before you pay, read the renewal price in the cart, not only the promotional monthly price.
• Refunds. Read the refund policy before you buy. How Hostinger charges, renews and refunds is covered in Is Hostinger legit?.

If you are not yet sure whether you need a VPS or shared hosting, start with VPS or shared hosting: which one pays off for your site on Hostinger. For those who have already chosen a VPS, these are the entry plans on the international site, in US dollars:

The VPS renewal is almost double the promotional price: KVM 1 goes from US$6.49 to US$11.99 a month, and KVM 2 from US$8.79 to US$14.99. These are the 24-month promotion prices read on October 30, 2026. We did not test SONAR20 on the VPS, so check the price in the cart before you sign.

Use the code SONAR20 in the coupon field of the cart, or come in through this article's link: 20% off the first period. We tested it in the cart of the Brazilian site on three products: the e-commerce Startup plan, from the store builder, on October 29, 2026, and a professional email plan and Reach, on October 30, 2026. On the hosting plans in this table and on the VPS, we did not test it; check in the cart. We did not test renewal. The full rule is on Hostinger coupons.

Hostinger's promotion has no end date on the page, and prices can change. Check the amount in the cart before you pay.

Choose Premium for one site, a blog, a portfolio or a company page, or for up to three sites. It is the entry plan and the cheapest hosting on the international site, both in the promotion and at renewal.

Choose Unlimited for several sites, with daily backups and 50 GB of NVMe. Cloud Startup, which renews at more than US$25 a month, only pays off if you need the extra 100 GB of storage.

Choose a VPS when the site needs its own processor and memory, and look at the renewal first.

In every case, read the renewal column before you pay and confirm the amount in the cart. Prices on the international page can change.
